Dear Church,
Today is a great day to celebrate Fatherhood. God established this ordinance on man from the beginning of time. When He created woman He completed the family structure. Father’s Day should be one of celebration and rejoicing in what God instituted.
I do admit, for many, it may be hard to find joy in celebrating Fatherhood. Whether a family went through a bad father experience or had suffered abuse at the hands of their father, it can be a hard day to find joy. This post is for you.
I keep a private journal where I write down my thoughts from God when He pours in small bits of inspiration from heaven to my soul. It helps me when I am weak to refer back to what I wrote down. God poured this into my soul some time ago when I was struggling with understanding what real Fatherhood looked like. He turned my eyes to heaven and focused me on His heavenly protection. That is what a Dad is: protector. I hope you are blessed and your soul is comforted.

I am the pride and joy of a King. Jesus taught His disciples to view their relationship with God as that of Father first. He tells me that I am beloved and welcomed as His created child. He tells me to come back every single time I fall. He does not want me to miss the point of brokenness. He reclaims my broken self to His perfect wholeness according to His Fatherly love. He repairs all the cracks in my armor and shows me where my soul needs mending from the brokenness. As a Father, He sits me down and says, “What went wrong?” I know at times my own fleshly desires can cause me to sin and rebel against Him. He looks back at me calmly and says, “Remember all I have commanded you and remember my love for you.” He says if I obey the plans He has for me as His child, I can find hope and confidence in His sweet love the rest of my life. This is the only way to be happy in the freedom that comes with redemption. The Father tells me I am having a hard time believing He can comfort me. I am having a hard time believing He has already defeated all the evil sin I will ever face in my life, including the sin(s) that so easily besets me. God says for me to be accountable to Him and my family of Christ in the fight against the flesh. Live for the freedom your Father won for your soul through His son Jesus. Let the Father do what must be done in your life to live under the protection of His love. Don’t forsake the fellowship of the brethren, your family. They point you to my love if they know my love for them. The Father says to live under the protection of His mighty wings and His righteous roar. Never forget to take your thoughts captive as the enemy will try again to discount the protection your Father places over you. God says there is so much waiting to be unleashed through His spirit at work within His child that fully loves Him. For the protection of the Word itself, your Father can only reveal more about His will as you obey what has already been laid before you. Obedience to the law and holiness of Christ unlocks His will in your life. Only as you live in obedience to God’s perfect love for you can He reveal what is to come next. Above all else, take heart knowing my grace is sufficient for you, Will Jackson. Heavenly daddy picks you up when you fall. Your life is under God’s loving protection and nothing can change that. Surrender your desires to your Father’s will alone. Stop trying to do something for your Father and let your Heavenly Father do something for you. There is rest, with no shame, at the cross of my Father’s son: Jesus. Abide in your Father and He will show you wonders beyond your wildest dreams. Live under the protection of His sweet love for you.
